Slaughterhouse wastewater is the wastewater generated during the slaughtering and processing of livestock, which mainly contains high concentrations of nitrogen-containing organic compounds, suspended solids, dissolved solids, grease, protein, blood, minced meat, food debris, hair, feces and sediment etc., and may also contain a variety of bacteria harmful to human health. If direct discharge will cause serious pollution to the environment, therefore, the treatment of slaughterhouse wastewater is essential.
Slaughterhouse Wastewater Treatment Technology Process: Grille-Adjusting tank-Dissolved air floatation machine-Acid hydrolysis tank-MBR tank-Disinfection tank
The grille is mainly used to remove large solid particles and floating matters, such as hair and minced meat in the slaughter wastewater, so as to prevent these pollutants from forming scum in the subsequent processing equipment to block the pipeline and equipment, causing damage to pipeline and equipment and shorten their service life.
2. Adjusting Tank
The adjusting tank is mainly to provide buffer capacity to sewage treatment load and prevent the sudden change of the treatment system load; reduce the fluctuation of sewage flow into the treatment system and control the PH value of sewage; stabilize the water quality of sewage, reduce the consumption of chemicals in sewage treatment and control the content of BOD and COD in sewage.
3. Dissolved Air Floatation Machine
Dissolved air floatation machine is a common method in wastewater treatment projects in slaughter industry at present, mainly to remove grease and unintercepted fine fluff contained in slaughter wastewater, to prevent the pump from being blocked and to isolate the air layer after the grease enters the treatment system.
4. Acid Hydrolysis Tank
After oil separation, water volume and water quality adjustment, the wastewater is hydrolyzed and acidified in the acid hydrolysis tank. The purpose is to decompose large molecular weight proteins and other organic pollutants into organic compounds with lower molecular weight, which is beneficial to the next level of aerobic biochemical treatment. Meanwhile, the mixed solution after aerobic treatment is returned to the acid hydrolysis tank for denitrification treatment, so as to effectively remove the ammonia nitrogen in the water.
5. MBR Tank
MBR is an efficient combination of membrane separation technology and biological treatment method. It uses membrane separation technology to replace the secondary sedimentation tank in the activated sludge method for solid-liquid separation treatment. The main purpose of the MBR tank is to further reduce the concentration of pollutants and effectively realize the separation of mud and water to ensure stable effluent quality. 6. Disinfection Tank
After biochemical treatment of slaughter wastewater wells, part of the bacteria settled down with the sludge, and most of the remaining pathogenic bacteria such as E.coli and fecal streptococcus still exist in the sewage. For the sake of human health, it’s necessary to disinfect the sewage. The disinfection tank adopts the chlorine dioxide method for disinfection. In addition, the disinfection tank uses an advection-type separator contact reaction device, which can increase the contact time and achieve a better disinfection effect.
